JADE MEAD IN BROOME JADE MEAD IN BROOME
My husband and I recently travelled to Broome with our toddler for a little family vacay and had such an amazing time. Broome is a beautiful travel destination, with all the luscious green trees, vast white sand beaches and some amazing restaurants with stunning views.
We stayed at Seashells Resort in a 2 bedroom apartment which was perfect for us because it meant our daughter had her own room, so that once she went to bed we were still able to move freely around the apartment without worrying about waking her up. We also had a fully functioning kitchen which was super handy for preparing food for both our daughter and ourselves. Seashells has a beautiful big pool that has shaded areas and water fountains, so it’s great for the whole family. The have plenty of sun beds too for those who love to chill by the pool all day. Seashells is also in a great location, not too far away from the famous Cable Beach. We have stayed there twice now and will definitely stay there again!
Our top dining recommendations:
BREAKFAST: Dragonfly Café, Green Mango Café or Zanders Café. Dragonfly and Green Mango are both located in the town which for us was a quick 5 minute drive from our hotel because we had our hire car from Budget which was so handy. Zanders is located on Cable Beach with beautiful views of the ocean. Each café had great options for breakfast and all had great coffee, which is very important to us! Dragonfly was probably our favourite spot for breakfast.
LUNCH: We generally had lunch in our apartment because we had a kitchen so I can’t really provide lunch recommendations, but we preferred to stay in for lunch to save money and then we liked to eat out somewhere nice for breakfast and dinner.
DINNER: Hands down our favourite dinner destination was Aarli. They are located in the town and have an Asian fusion style menu. The food is absolutely delicious – you must try the beef ribs! Just make sure you book because otherwise you might miss out like we did when we tried to go again another night. I would also recommend both The Mangrove Hotel and Sunset Bar & Grill at Cable Beach Hotel, for sunset cocktails and light bites for dinner.
A fun highlight of our trip was a visit to Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park. We drove there in our hire car which was about a 15-20 minute drive from our resort. The park opens at 2pm but they do a live feeding tour at 3pm, where they take you around the park feeding the crocodiles so that that you can see them up close and in action, I would definitely recommend going at feeding time for all the action. You also get the option to hold a baby crocodile which was fun. Just be sure to pack a hat, sunscreen and water because it is hot!
I hope you find our tips helpful and I hope you have an amazing vacation in Broome!
